Hi Everyone! Thank you for supporting our family and an amazing organization. This is our fourth year doing the March Of Dimes Walk. We have such a great time fundraising last year and we couldn't have done it with out everyone's help, so thank you. Last year we raised almost $2500!!
This year the walk is April 27th, at Marshall Square Park in West Chester.

The reason we choose to support the March of Dimes is because too many babies are born too early. Our daughter, Abby, was born eight weeks early. She weighed only 2 pounds, 14 ounces and was 15 inches long.

I had an emergency c-section and we were absolutely not expecting to have a baby when I was only 30 weeks along-I had just had my baby shower, we had nothing ready. It was such a scary time for us, and our hope is that other families don't have to go through the same struggles we faced. She was so tiny when she was born, she was considered to have 'Failure To Thrive'.  It was almost a week until we were able to hold her for the first time. Those first two months in the NICU were such a blur, we spent as much time as we could at the hospital. It was a really hard time for us, but we were lucky that Abby really just needed to grow and didn't face any major health obstacles.

She was only 4 pounds when she came home and was still on oxygen for her underdeveloped lungs and a heart monitor for apnea of prematurity. It took about three months for her to be off the machines. As Abby was getting older we realized she was not meeting her milestones and was showing some developmental delays

We started receiving services from Early Intervention when Abby turned 1 and continued with them until she was 3. When she turned 3 we transitioned to the Intermediate Unit and she has been attending a special needs preschool four days a week ever since. Abby is loving Pre-K this year and we are getting ready for kindergarten next year.  Abby really is doing amazing, but her developmental and social delays have been a challenge. She has come such a long way and she amazes us every day. We support March of Dimes every year because we hope other families don't have to go through the struggles that we have been through.

This year we are raffling off an Apple iPad Mini to raise money for a great cause. If you would like to buy raffle tickets, you can do so through our PayPal account and we will fill out your raffle tickets for you. Abby will be picking the lucky winner after the walk.

Thank you for your support and we hope to see you at the walk.

                          Good Luck!!!
